ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL

PRESENT: J.H. Fitzpatrick, City Clerk; R.D. Miller, Administrative
Officer; Terry Sanville; Dan Smith
Guest Present: Colonel Sorensen, County Planning Department
1. Continued discussion by Council of City /County relations, particularly
the draft Declaration of Intention by the City and County concerning
location of County facilities within or near the City of San Luis Obispo.
City Council and staff discussed ways and means of implementing a program
for development of County buildings in the City of San Luis Obispo and
ways of farily informing both the supervisors and voters of the City Coun-
cil's position and good faith in helping the County develop their needed
facilities.
1 Councilman Petterson stated he agreed -with the County's proposal for use of
the County Airport except he felt that the following.statement be added:
"City utilities to be extended for Airport uses only."
The City Council authorized the Mayor to prepare a draft of a City position
paper on the intent and support of the City Council to the County in
developing various County facilities in or near.the City of San Luis
Obispo, to include such areas as: 1) Downtown Site, 2) Johnson Avenue Site,
3) Marsh Street Site, 4) South Street Site, 5) Airport, and; 6) Downtown
Cultural Center.
2. On motion of Councilman Jorgensen, seconded by Councilman Dunin, the
meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
