Billig Absent: None Promotional Coordinating Committee Members I Present: Jim Chaney, Charles Long, Leslie Ramsey, Rob Sexton, Margaret Bond, Laverne Schneider Absent: Bob Vincent City Staff Present: Paul Lanspery, Administrative Officer; Geoff Grote, Assistant Administrative Officer; Pamela Voges, City Clerk; Toby Ross, Community Development Director; Wayne Peterson, City Engineer; Rudy Muravez, Finance Director; Mike Dolder, Fire Chief; Steve Henderson, Human Relations Commission Coordinator; Ann McKibbin, Personnel Director; Roger Neuman, Police Chief; Dave Romero, Public Works Director; Jim Stockton, Recreation Director 1. JOINT STUDY SESSION WITH PROMOTIONAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE Geoff Grote, Assistant Administrative Officer and staff member to the PCC, briefly reviewed the Council agenda report (file 41050). He reviewed the four items to be discussed: A) Advertising policies of the City and its role with the Promotional Coordinating Committee; B) the P.C.C.'s role in reviewing those community groups to receive grants in aid on a line item basis; C) the Goals and Objectives of the P.C.C. for the remainder of fiscal year 1982 -83; D) relations between the P.C.C. and the Chamber of Commerce. Jim Chaney, Chairman of the Promotional Coordinating Committee, stated with regard to item one on advertising, that since the proposal with Karlen Design had fallen through and in lieu of the information recently submitted by Dave Garth, Executive Director of Chamber of Commerce, concerning the dangerous drop in tourism, the committee was anxious in at least attempting a band -aid approach to handling advertising for the
