HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/20/1984City Council PIinutes Tuesday, March 20, 1984 - 700 p.m. Pape 7 0-2 Mayor Billig stated that the Council had received a letter from the League of kxnen Voters regarding the Library. The CAO had been requested to contact the President of the League to inform her of the meetings that the CAO has had with the County Administrative Officer concerning the progress of this project. C -3 After discussion and on notion of Councilman Griffin, seconded by Councilman Settle, Councilman Dunin was appointed as Council representa- tive to the local Area Agency on Aging Commission. Motion carried, all ayes. C -4 for Billig stated that she would be attending the California Transportation Commission Meeting on Thursday and felt there was a good chance of obtaining a grant for the SP railroad area improvements. C-5 MXor Billig stated that on Friday, March 30 she would be attending the League of California Cities Comnittee Meeting on Community Development and would be speaking on behalf of our Constitutional amendment. She stated that Juanita Qualls, who sits on the Environmental Quality Carnmittee, would be submitting letters on the Council's behalf from the Constitutional Amendment Subcommittee of Mayors. C-6 Councilman Settle stated that he had received a call from the President of the League of California Cities forming a tentative plan to have the Secretary of Interior Department speak in Santa Barbara as to the strategies and his observation to the future of OCS and all off -shore activities; terntatively scheduled for Saturday, May 51 1984. He also reminded the Council that the next Channel Counties Division Meeting would be in Carpinteria on Friday, April 27, 1984. !door Billig adjourned the meeting at 9:30 p.m. to Closed Session to discuss Persorinal /Lit.igation Matters. 1 10:00 p.m. City Council reconvened in Regular Session, all Councilmembers present. There being no .further business to cane before the City Council, Mayor Billig adjourned the meeting at 10:00 p.m. to Tuesday, April 3, 1984.
