account for funding the Emergency Medical Services Agency in fiscal year
1984 -85. .
After brief discussion and on motion of Councilman Dunin, seconded by
Councilwoman Dovey, the City Administrative Officer was authorized to
transfer $3,530 from the contingency account to the Fire Department account
for funding of the EMS Agency for fiscal year 1984 -85. Motion passed
unanimously, Councilmembers Griffin and Settle absent (3 -0 -2).
B. Council reviewed recommendations for cost .recovery of Emergency Medical '
Services (EMT II).
Mike Dolder, Fire Chief, briefly reviewed the Council agenda report and
stated that it was Council's request in July 1983 that staff conduct a
study on the use of EMT II services in other cities with the possibility
that it be submitted to the voters. Staff was recommending that a draft
ballot measure be prepared for possible inclusion on the General Municipal
Election in November 1985. The measure would authorize a maximum monthly
emergency medical service assessment fee of $1.00 for occupancy units
serviced by city utilities.
After brief discussion and on motion of Councilman Dunin, seconded by
Councilwoman Dovey, the decision on EMT II services was deferred to mid -
February 1985,'at which time staff to report back on detailed analysis of
overall cost recovery services. 'Motion passed unanimously, Councilmembers
Griffin and Settle absent (3 -0 -2).
4:20 p.m. Mayor Billig adjourned the meeting to Closed Session to discuss
Personnel /Litigation Matters. 4:35 p.m. City Council reconvened, Council-
members Griffin and Settle absent.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor
Billig adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m. to Thursday, September 13, 1984,
at 4:30 p.m'. for field trip to remaining six hillside areas.
