Upon general consensus, Council accepted the Planning Commission's
recommendation. Staff to report back on 1) the feasibility of decking Lot
No. 1 (Palm and Morro) and expand the scope to'include other parking'lots
in the downtown area; 2) Council encouraged timely improvement program to
be developed for Laguna Lake; 3) Recreation /Community Complex feasibility
study deleted; 4) proposed Fire Training Facility to be a joint agency
effort; 5) Corp. Yard improvements to be reevaluated (5 -0).
1:30 p.m. Councilman Griffin left the meeting.
On motion of Councilman Settle, seconded by Mayor Billig, that the Capital
Facilities Plan be set for public hearing on February 19, 1985. Motion
carried unanimously, Councilman Griffin absent.
2:40 p.m. Councilman Settle left the meeting.
2:40 p.m. Mayor Billig declared a recess.
2:45 p.m. City Council reconvened, Councilmembers Griffin and Settle
absent.
3. AIRPORT SPECIFIC PLAN (ROSS - 1154)
Council reviewed planning area boundaries for the Airport Specific Plan as
submitted by the Planning Team consisting of representatives from the City
and County staff and representatives of the Airport Area Property Owners
Associaton.
After brief discussion, it was moved by Councilwoman Dove y, seconded by
Councilman Dunin, "to approve the boundaries as recommended by the Planning
Team. Motion carried unanimously, Councilmembers Griffin and Settle
absent.
C O M M U N I C A T I O N S
C -1 Mayor Billig noticed Council of a letter received from Warren Baker,
President of Cal Poly, in response to City concerns regarding possible
impact of proposed recreational /intramural facility in the Hathway /Slack
Street neighborhood.
Councilman Dunin requested that additional discussion be given to this
issue.
After brief discussion this item was continued for further review.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor
Billig adjourned the meeting at 3:10 p.m.
