1. 1987 -89 BUDGET (File #233)
Council considered the 1987 -89 budget, specifically, consideration of ten
programs as indicated: 1) Fire Administration, 2) Emergency Response,
3) Hazard Prevention, 4) Training, 5) Fire Technical Services,
6) Disaster Preparedness, 7) Police Administration, 8) Investigation,
9) Patrol, 10) Police Technical Services.
Toby Ross, Acting Administrative Officer, distributed a property tax
distribution analysis, and reviewed the report.
After brief discussion, Council gave conceptual approval to the property
tax distribution analysis with amendments as discussed (5 -0).
Council then reviewed-each program beginning with Fire Administration.
1:00 p.m., Councilman Settle left the meeting.
1:15 p.m., Vice -Mayor Griffin left the meeting.
Council reviewed the Fire budget, giving conceptual approval, with
amendments as indicated on each of the goals and objectives as
indicated - see file #233 pages 1 -4 through 1 -15.
C O M M U N I C A T I O N S
C -1 FLOOD MANAGEMENT
Staff directed to report back on recent FEMA legislation requiring
amendment to the City's Flood Management Ordinance.
C -2 BED TAX
Staff directed to respond to SLO Motel /Hotel Association, with notice of
future discussions regarding the bed tax issue.
1:35 p.m., due to the lateness of the hour, Mayor Dunin adjourned the
meeting to Tuesday, May 12, 1987, at 4:00 p.m., to begin discussions
concerning the Police budget.
