Mayor Dunin opened the public hearing. .No one spoke for or against the proposed amendments. Mayor Dunin declared the public hearing closed. Council then went through the document page by page, making amendments as noted in the file (File #517). After discussion and upon Council consensus, the proposed amendments be brought back to date certain Tuesday, October 26, 1987 for final action on the for element (4 -0 -1, Councilmember Rappa absent). B U S I N E S S I T E M 2. WHALE ROCK FISHING PROGRAM Council reconsidered the Fishing Enhancement Program at Whale Rock Reservoir. Bill Hetland. Utilities Manager, reviewed the action taken by the Whale Rock Commission at it's meeting on Friday and since the last time Council discussed this on Thursday, October 8th. He recommended that Council support the purchase of the native steelhead trout for stocking at Whale Rock Reservoir. Roger Picquet, City Attorney, reviewed the legal implications of the previous court settlement requiring the fishing program. After considerable discussion, moved by Griffin /Settle (3 -1 -1, Councilwoman Dovey voting no, Councilwoman Rappa absent) to direct the City's representative on the Whale Rock Commission to request, that the Fish and Game direct in writing the Whale Rock Commission to stock the reservoir and further that staff review the environmental determination to see that it had demonstrated compliance with Water Quality Control requirements. P U B L I C C 0 M M E N T No public comment was received. 9:00 p.m., Mayor Dunin adjourned the Council to closed session to discuss personnel matters. 9:35 p.m., There being no further business to me before the City Council, Mayor Dunin adjourned the meeting.
