Present: Council Members Christine Mulholland, Allen K. Settle, John Ewan,
Vice Mayor Ken Schwartz, Mayor Dave Romero, and Council Member

City Staff:
Present: Ken Hampian, City Administrative Officer; Jonathan Lowell, City
Attorney; Audrey Hooper, City Clerk; Wendy George, Assistant City

PRESENTATIONS
Pierre Rademaker, representing the Ken Schwartz Recognition Committee, discussed a
number of Council Member Schwartz's contributions to the community during the past fifty
years, and requested that the Council declare Friday, January 14, 2005, "Ken Schwartz
Appreciation Day."
Mayor Romero made a presentation to Council Member Ken Schwartz in appreciation for
his years of service. The presentation included a proclamation declaring Friday, January
14, 2005, "Kenneth Schwartz Appreciation Day," as requested by the Recognition
Committee.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL.
ELECTION HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2. 2004.
City Clerk Hoover presented the staff report.
ACTION: Moved by Settle/Ewan to adopt Resolution No. 9627 (2004 Series)
declaring the results of the election; motion carried 5:0.
Al. OATHS OF OFFICE FOR MAYOR -ELECT AND COUNCIL MEMBERS - ELECT.
City Clerk Hooper administered the Oaths of Office, and presented Certificates of Election
to Mayor Dave Romero and Council Members Paul Brown and Christine Mulholland.
A2. VICE MAYOR APPOINTMENT FOR 2005.
City Clerk Hooper presented the staff report.

ACTION: Moved by Mulholland/Settle to appoint Council Member John Ewan as
Vice Mayor to serve a one -year term commencing upon appointment; motion carried
5:0.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Romero adjourned
the meeting at 12:30 p.m. to Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber,
990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.
