' SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
THURSDAY, JANUARY 15, 2009 - 6:30 P.M.

K. Settle and Mayor Dave Romero
Absent: Council Member Jan Howell Marx
City Staff
Present: Ken Hampian, City Manager, Bill Statler, Finance Director, and
Audrey Hooper, City Clerk (Other Department Heads and staff
members were also present to act as scribes or assist in the
process as needed.)
2009 -11 FINANCIAL PLAN COMMUNITY FORUM
' City Manager Hampian and Finance & Information Technology Director Statler
provided an overview of the goal- setting process, current goals, and the fiscal
outlook for 2009 -11. Following their presentations, Consultant Don Maruska
explained the interactive process designed for this forum and facilitated the process
throughout the course of the evening.
There were approximately 275 participants in this forum. During the public
comment period, 68 members of the public provided input on the issues and goals
that were of priority to them. Their comments were recorded and all participants
were provided with an opportunity to "cast a vote" next to the five ideas they thought
should be top priorities. Feedback from the Forum is summarized in Section 5 of
the 2009 -11 Financial Plan Goal Setting Workshops, binder which is on file in the
City Clerk's office and on the City's web site.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Romero
adjourned the meeting at 9:30 p.m.
