Council Members
Present: Council Members Jan Howell Manx, Vice Mayor Andrew Carter, and
Mayor Dave Romero
Absent: Council Members John Ashbaugh and Allen K. Settle
City Staff Present: J. Christine Dietrick, Assistant City Attorney, Greg Zocher,
Risk Manager, and Sue Chippendale, Deputy City Clerk, were present for the Call
to Order, Roll Call, Announcement of the Closed Session Topic, and Public
Comment period.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION TOPIC

Pursuant to Government Code § 54957
Title: Interim City Manager
PUBLIC COMMENT ON CLOSED SESSION ITEM
Mayor Romero called for public comments. None were forthcoming and the
meeting adjourned to the Closed Session.
CLOSED SESSION REPORT
Assistant City Attorney Dietrick reported that the Closed Session was held as
indicated. No reportable action was taken.
The Closed Session adioumed at 10:12 a.m.

Mayor Romero called the special meeting to order at 10:14 a.m. Council Members
present were Jan Howell Marx, Vice Mayor Andrew Carter and Mayor Romero..
Absent were Council Members John Ashbaugh and Allen K. Settle.

CLOSED SESSION REPORT '
Assistant City Attorney Dietrick reported that Council met in Closed Session at
10:00 a.m. to discuss Public Employment and Labor Negotiations as indicated
above.
APPOINTMENT
Al. APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM CITY MANAGER. (LOWELUDIETRICK)
ACTION: Moved by Carter /Marx to appoint Ken Hampian Interim City Manager
for the period of January 4 through January 13, 2010, subject to his execution of
an employment contract with the City and authorize the Mayor to execute a
contract, subject to City Attorney approval; motion carried 3:0.
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Romero
adjourned the meeting at approximately 10:15 a.m.
