ORDINANCE NO. 1001 (1983 Series)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
RESTRICTING THE HOURS THAT PARKS ARE OPEN
AND GRANTING AUTHORITY TO THE DIRECTOR OF RECREATION
TO CLOSE SECTIONS OF THE PARKS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as
follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection 4226.3(b) is hereby added to the Municipal
Code as follows:
"(b) Presence in Parks During Certain Hours Prohibited
"No person shall enter, remain, stay, or loiter in any
public park between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of
the following day without approval from the Director."
SECTION 2. Section 4226.12 is hereby added to the Municipal Code
as follows:
"Section 4226.12 Closing
"Any nark or any section.thereof may be declared closed to
the public by the Director at any time and for any interval of
time, either temporarily or at regular and stated intervals
(daily or otherwise), and either entirely or merely to certain
uses, as the Director finds reasonably necessary."
SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall
be published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final
passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in
said City; and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty
(30) days after its said final passage.

Luis Obispo at a meeting held on the 13th day of December, 1983, on
motion of Councilwoman Dovey , seconded by
Mayor Billig , and on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilwoman Dovey, Mayor Billig, Councilmembers Dunin and Griffin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Settle
