AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS
OBISPO TEMPORARILY SUSPENDING THE MUNICIPAL
CODE REGARDING RESIDENTIAL GROWTH MANAGEMENT
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows:
SECTION 1. Findings..
1. Special provisions of the Residential Growth Management Regulations are
expected to take effect on May 1, 1984, unless an emergency ordinance is approved.
2. These special provisions may create unintended hardships for property
owners currently processing applications with the City.
3. Delaying the effect of the Growth Management Regulations until the end
of the current building season will substantially reduce the unintended hardships
for property owners currently processing applications with the City.
4. Delaying the effect of the Residential Growth Management Regulations until
October 31, 1984 would not adversely affect the environment.
SECTION 2. Section 17.88 of the Municipal Code (Residential Growth
Management Regulations) is hereby and immediately suspended until October 31, 1984,
at which point it shall be in full force and effect.
SECTION 3. This ordinance being an urgency ordinance for the immediate
protection and preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare containing
a declaration of the facts constituting the urgency, and passed by a four - fifths
(4/5) vote of the Council shall take effect immediately pursuant to Charter
Section 605.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall cause this Ordinance to be published
within five (5) days in a newspaper of general circulation, but delay in publication,
or even failure.to publish, shall not affect its validity.
INTRODUCED AND FINALLY PASSED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
at a meeting held on the 1st day of May, 1984, on motion of Councilman Griffin,
seconded by Councilman Dunin, and on the following roll call vote:
