AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS
OBISPO DELETING CHAPTER 1.24 TITLE 1
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING THE
FOLLOWING TO CHAPTER 12.40 TITLE 12
(DATUM PLANE).
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Chapter 1.24, Title 1
of the Municipal Code is obsolete and is no longer used by the
City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is important that a
Benchmark system be available to and be used by engineers,
architects and builders to assure proper construction of
improvements;
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo as follows:
SECTION
1.
That
Chapter 1.24
Title 1
is repealed;
SECTION
2.
That
the following
section
12.40.050 be added
to Chapter 12.40, Title 12:
12.40.050 DATUM PLANE ?'
The City Engineer shall establish benchmarks throughout the
City as he deems necessary. The benchmarks shall be on USC &
GS Datum of 1929.
The benchmarks shall be used in determining all elevations,
street, pavements, sidewalk, curbs, sewers, bridges,
structures, lot grades and all other work in the City.
SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the ayes and
noes, shall be published once in full, at least three

days before final passage; in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper
published and circulated in this city; and this ordinance shall
go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its
final passage.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City
of San Luis Obispo at a meeting thereof held on the 2nd-.-- day
