AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
REPEALING THE REQUIREMENT FOR ROOF PENETRATIONS
FOR SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows:
SECTION 1. The council affirms the determination of the Community
Development Director that the amendment is categorically exempt from
environmental review as a minor alteration in land -use limitations.
SECTION 2. Municipal Code Section 15.20.030 Part B is repealed, so the
section shall read as follows:
15.20.030 BUILDINGS WITH HOT WATER SYSTEM - REQUIREMENT'S
After the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter,
each new building or group of buildings proposing a hot water system which
does not use solar energy shall include an accessible space appropriately
located and of sufficient size to allow installation of a tank for storage
of solar heated water.
SECTION 4. This ordinance; together with the ayes and noes; shall be
published once in full; at least three (3) days prior to its final passage; in
the Telegram- Tribune; a newspaper published and circulated in this city. This
ordinance shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its
final passage.
