Be it Ordained by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: ASSESS 1ENT OF TAXES. Section 1. The Assessor of the City of San Luis Obispo, in making assessments of city taxes, shall be governed b the provision of this Ordinance, p�� �~ MSC s d ance, and the duties of Assessor shal�be ex- officio assessor us Sec�?�2. For the purpose of this Ordinance, Section 3627 of the Political Code of the State of California is hereby adopted and made a part of this Ordinance. � Se Q3. The Assessor must, between the first Monday in March and the 3rd Monday in July in each year, ascertain the names of all taxable inhabitants, and all property in San Luis Obispo, subject to taxation, extent such as is required to be assessed by the State Board of Equalization, and must assess such property to the person by whom it was owned or claimed, or in wkbzbx whose possession or control it was at twelve o'clock M. of the first Monday in March, next preceding; but no mistake in the na,e of the owner or supposed owner of real property, shall render the assessment thereof invalid. In assessing solvent credits (not secured by mortgage or trust deed,) a reduction therefrom shall be made of debts due to bona fide residents of this State. SedV°'4. He shall have power to exact from evd.ry person a statement under oath, setting forth specifically all the real and personal Property owned by such person, or in his possession or under his control, at twelve o'clock M. on the first Monday in March.
