AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ThE LEASE Or CERT1-�IA
REAL PROPERTY O'�fNED by THE CITY OF SAN LUIS O .DISPO.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as
follovis:
SECTION 1. It is hereby determined and declared by the
City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo that the public
interest demands and that it is to the advantage of the City of
San Luis Obispo that the real property hereinafter described,
owned by said. Cipy, be leased for a period of three ( 3) years
beginning on the lst day of November, 1944•
SECTION 2. Said City Council does hereby determine
and declare that it is the intention of said City Council to
enter into a lease of said real property.

SECTION 3. When this ordinance shall take effect, the
City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise for
bids and for holding a public auction of said lease. A form of
said lease -shall be prepared, and after approval of the form by
the City Council, shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk,
and any lease awarded shall be upon such form. During the.tiine
of advertisin& such form of lease shall be open to public in-
spection, which fact shall be stated in such advertising.
SECTION 4. Said lease shall be made at public auction
to the highest bidder at the highest monthly rent; provided said
City Council may at its discretion reject any and all bids. Upon
said lease being awarded, the Mayor of said City is hereby
authorized to execute said lease for and on behalf of said City,
which execution shall be attested by the City Clerk.

SECTION 5. The real property intended to be leased is
situated in the County of San Luis Obispo, State of California,
and is described as follows:
All that part or portion of Lots 6, 7, g, 9, 10,
11, 18 and 19 of the San Luis Obispo suburban tract
(known as the City Sewer Farm) which part or portion
is devoted to agricultural purposes, saving and
excepting that part thereof occupied by the sewage
disposal plant and used'in connection therewith,
and also excepting the roadways now used in connection
with such disposal plant.
SECTION 6. This ordinance is required 'for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety. The following is
a statement of the facts constituting such urgency:
The United States is at war, and it is necessary to
keep all available agricultural land in production so as to pro-
vide an ample food supply. The land proposed to be leased must
be plowed and worked as soon as possible so that a crop may be
assured for the coming year, and this ordinance should, therefore,
become effective at an early date.
SECTION 7. This ordinance, together with the Ayes and
Noes, shall be published for two days before its final passage
in The Telegram- Tribune, a daily newspaper printed, published,
and circulated in said city, and shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its final passage and approval.
