HomeMy WebLinkAbout0358ORDINANCE NO. 358 (1966 Series) AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING THE DISPOSAL OF SEPTIC TANK CLEANINGS BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION ONE. That Section 7508 is hereby added to Chapter 5 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code, to read as follows: Section 7508. Rules and Regulations Governing the Disposal of Septic Tank Cleanings. Section 7508.1. Unlawful to Dump on Land. It shall be unlawful for any person to dump or discharge raw or chemically treated sewage from any source onto the surface of any lands within the City of San Luis Obispo, except such lands as said City utilizes in connection with the operation of its Sewage Treatment Plant. Section 7508.2. Unlawful to Dump into City Collection System Except as Provided Herein. It shall be unlawful for any person to dump or discharge into the City Sewer Collection System septic tank cleanings or any raw orchemi- ca.11y treated sewage from septic tanks except as provided herein. Section 7508.3. Dumping Regulations. Raw or chemically treated sewage from chemical toilets and septic tanks may be discharged or dumped into the City Sewer Col - lection System only at the places owned and/or operated by said City and designated by the Director of Public Works. Section 7508.4. Dumping Permit and Fees. Each person dumping or discharging raw or chemically treated sewage, or cleanings, from septic tanks into the facilities of the City of San Luis Obispo shall obtain a Permit from the Director of Public Works of said City, and shall pay the following fees: For each tank truck vehicle load, 1200 gallons or less, regardless of the actual amount discharged ---------- --- -- -- $5.00 For each additional 1000 gallons or fraction thereof, ----- --- -- -- ----- $1.00 Section 7508.5. Revocation of Permit. In addition to such other penalties as are provided for violation of any provision of this Code, the Director of Public Works may re- voke a Sewage Dumping Permit upon a finding that the permittee has failed to dump in the prescribed location and manner, or has failed to pay dumping fees, or for other justifiable cause. SECTION TWO. This Ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be pub- lished once in full, at least three days before its final passage, in the Telegram- Tribune, ASR Ordinance No. 358 - 1966 Series a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its said final passage.
