AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 3 and 5 OF ORDINANCE
N0. 117 (New Series) ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE
THE KEEPING OF DOGS IN THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO,
PROVIDE FOR THE REGISTRATION THEREOF AND PROHIBIT DOGS
RUNNING AT LARGE IN SAID CITY AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES."
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
as follows:
SECTION_.1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 117 (New Series), the
title of which is set forth in the title of this ordinance, is here-
by amended to read as follows:
Section 3. The City Collector shall annually on or before
the first day of January of each year procure and during the ensuing
year keep constantly on hand, a sufficient number of metal tags of
convenient size and shape to be attached to a dog's collar, on which
shall appear the words, "San Luis Obispo City Dog -Tag," together with
a number, and the date, "19 ", with the proper year inserted; and at
the time each dog is registered under the provisions hereof, he shall
deliver to its owner or dustodian one of such tags. The tags for
each year shall be numbered consecutively from one upward. Provided
that for the year 1952 said tags shall bear the date "April 1 -- December
31, 1952, and the registration fees. shall be three - quarters of those
set forth in Section 6 of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 117 (New Series), the
title of which is set forth in the title of this ordinance, is here-
by amended to read as follows:
Section 5. On the first day of January of each year, all
prior registrations made under the provisions of this ordinance shall
be cancelled and all tags theretofore issued shall become and be
thereafter void and of no effect and all dogs kept or permitted to
remain in the City of San Luis Obispo must be again registered.
SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the Ayes and Noes,
shall be published for two days before its final passage in the
Telegram- Tribune, a daily newspaper printed, published and circu-
lated in said City, and the same shall take effect and be in force
thirty days after its final passage.

1952, by the following vote.
