HomeMy WebLinkAbout0385NORDINANCE NO. 385 (New Series) AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1953 -1954 UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, AND FIXING THE RATE OF SUCH TAX BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. There is hereby levied upon all taxable real and personal property within the City of San Luis Obispo, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, a tax for the fiscal year of said City beginning on the lst day of July, 1953 and now current, of $1.50 on each One Hundred Dollars in value of said property, for the purposes herein specified and apportioned among the funds in the City Treasury, as follows: 1. For the General Fund there is levied a tax of $984 on each One Hundred Dollars in value of said property. 2. For each of the following bond funds there is levied a tax on each One Hundred Dollars in value of said property to be used in paying the accruing interest and maturing bonds of the various issues of bonds heretofore issued by the City of San Luis abispo, which tax is in the amount, and is to be apportioned among such funds in the City Treasury as follows: (a) For the City Farm Bond Fund, evidenced by bonds dated April 1, 1918, a tax of $.0021. (b) For the Improvement Bond Fund of,1925, evidenced by bonds dated June 1, 1925, a tax of $.0023. (c) For the Sewer Extension Bond Fund of 1927, evidenced by bonds dated October, 1927s a tax of $.0035• (d) For the Sewer Extension Bond Fund of 1929, evid cad bj"bonds dated July 1, 1929, a tax of '4.0068. SECTION 9. NOTICE TO OWNER OF REMOVED VEHICLE. Any person referred to in Section.6 of this Ordinance who removes a vehicle from private property shall give notice to the owner of the motor vehicle as provided for and required by Section 585 of the Vehicle Code for the State of 0iifornia, which said Section 585 as it existed on the date of the adoption of this Ordinance is hereby adopted by reference as a part of this Ordinance. SECTION 10. GARAGE KEEPER'S LIEN. PENALTIES. Any person violating any of the provisions of.this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500.00, or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which any violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance is committed, and shall be punished therefor as provided in this Ordinance. SECTION 12. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance, together with the Ayes and Noes, shall be published for two days before its final passage in the Telegram - Tribune, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City and shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its final passage and approval. -3- INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT this 20th day of 19530 by the following vote: AYES: Paul W.Davis, Richard E.Gragg, Kenneth W.Jones, Fred H.Lucksinger.
