AlMn PnAT1TTAV - KARKT!4( -,S Ar!D INSTALL 1'RAFFICr11ARKERS WITHOUT PRIOR COUNCIL AIDPROVAL. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Section 3203.4 of the Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in full as follows: "SECTION 3203.4. Lane Marking. The City trafic.engineer is authorized to mark center lines and lane lines upon the surface of the roadway to indicate the course to be traveled by vehicles and may place signs temporarily designating lanes to be used by traffic moving in a particular direction, regardless of the center line of the highway." SECTION 2. Section 3203.5 of the Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in full as follows: "SECTION 3203.5. Distinctive Roadway Markings. The City traffic engineer is authorized to place and maintain distinctive roadway markings as described in the Vehicle Code on those streets or parts of streets where the volume of traffic or the vertical or other curvature of the roadway renders it hazardous to drive on the left side of such marking or signs and markings. Such marking or signs and markings shall have the same effect as similar markings placed by the State Department of Public Works pursuant to provisions of the Vehicle Code." SECTION 3. Section 3204(a) of the Municipal Code is hereby amended to read in full as follows: "(a) The City traffic engineer is authorized to place markers, buttons, or signs within or adjacent to inter- sections and indicating the course to be traveleE by vehicles turning at such intersections, and the City traffic engineer is authorized to locate and indicate more than one lane of traffic from which drivers of vehicles may make right or left hard turns, and the course to be travel e i ac cn in-V9.icated may Conform to or J be other than as prescribed by law or ordinance." SECTION 4. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes; shall be published once in full, at least three days before its final passage, in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty days after its said final passage.
