HomeMy WebLinkAbout0665ORDINANCE NO. 665 (1976 Series) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A SEPARATE SECTION ESTABLISHING FINES FOR PARKING VIO- LATIONS,TO INCREASE $1.00 FINES TO $2.00, AND TO PROVIDE FOR MORE THAN ONE OFFENSE FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS SUBJECT TO MINIMUM FINES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Section 3211.100 is added to the Municipal Code as follows: Section 3211.100. Parking Fines. The.fines authorized for parking violations in other sections of this Code shall be as follows: Code Sections Fine.- Each Offense 3209 and all subsections $5.00 3210 and all subsections 21.00 3211 and all subsections 5.00 SECTION 2. Section 3209.99 of the Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: Section 3209.99. Fines. Every person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this Chapter 10 shall be punished by a fine for each separate offense..as provided in Section 3211.100. SECTION 3. Section 3210.99 of the Municipal Code is amended to read in full as follows: Section 3210.99. Fines; Separate Offenses. Every person convicted of a violation of any of the pro- visions of this Chapter 11 shall be punished by a fine for each separate offense as provided in Section 3211.100. For 0 665 Ordinance No. 6 (1976 Series) the purposes of_ this section (1) a separate offense occurs when the initial citation is issued for a parkin violation; and (2) an additional separate offense occurs, and an additional citation shall be issued, whenever, after the issuance of any citation, the vehicle remains parked for a subsequent period of time equalling or exceeding the parking limitation for the space or zone in which the vehicle is parked. SECTION 4. Section 3211.99 of the Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: Section 3211.99. Fines. Every person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this Chapter 12 shall be punished by a fine for each separate offense as provided in Section 3211.100. (NOTE: Amendments shown by underlining.) l SECTION 5. This Ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once in full, at least three days prior to its final passage, in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty days after its said final passage.
