AN INTERIM ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS
OBISPO RENEWING URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 641
RELATED TO SIGN REGULATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF
FOUR (4) MONTHS.
WHEREAS, the Council adopted Urgency Ordinance No. 641 on
July 2, 1975, enacting urgency sign regulations pending City
consideration of zoning ordinance amendments to provide a com-
prehensive sign ordinance; and
WHEREAS, said urgency Ordinance No. 641 was extended an
additional eight (8) month period by the provisions of Interim
Ordinance No. 655; and
WHEREAS, the zoning ordinance amendments to provide a com-
prehensive sign ordinance are still being formulated and additional
time is needed to finalize such amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
San Luis Obispo as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code
Section 65858, the provisions of Urgency Ordinance No. 641 are
renewed for an additional four (4) month period terminating four
(4) months after the adoption of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. Staff and all appropriate advisory bodies are
directed to complete a proposed ordinance within reasonable time
to provide for a comprehensive revision to the City's sign
regulations.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption by a four - fifths vote of the Council and shall
remain in effect for a period of four (4) months unless terminated
sooner by the Council.

The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published
once within five (5) days in a newspaper of general circulation
but delay in publication, or even failure to publish, shall not
affect the validity of this ordinance.
INTRODUCED AND F.INALLY.PASSED by the Council of the City
of San Luis Obispo at a regular meeting thereof held on the
7th day of September , 1976, on motion of Mayor Schwartz
seconded by Councilman Gurnee and on the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Councilmen Graham, Gurnee, Norris, Petterson
and Mayor Schwartz .
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
