An Ordinance Prescribing the Duties o t,

his Term of Offices,
Be �it ordained by the .Council of the City,. of Sari Luis. - Obispo as follows:
Section 1 The Chief of Police shall have direct.` control and manage-
ment of all of the- members of the `Police Departr.ent in th€r ' la�rful ex-
ercise of his functions, with full power by and with, the consent of the
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety to detail any ,of them to such
public service the -Chief of Police may. direct, and with. p®wer by
and with -the :`consent of said Commissioner to sus, wend temporarily for
a period of riot more than- two weeks any member of the dop�artment; provid-
ed however, that in all cases of suspens 6n-.: -he, -shall irraaediately re-
port the same together with the-cause of suspenslon to the, Mayor of the

or confirm the action of the Chief of Police,,; 'or take such other action

Section 2. Tt'.shall be his duty to suppreass any, riot, ,.public tumult,
disturbance of the peace, and resistance against the lags or Dublic .
