ORDINANCE NO. 743 (1978 Series)
AN INTERIM ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO
EXTENDING URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 729 (1977 SERIES),
DECLARING A MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING
PERMITS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STRUCTURES ON
BULLOCK LANE PROPERTY, FOR AN ADDITIONAL EIGHT (8)
MONTH PERIOD.
WHEREAS, this Council adopted Urgency Ordinance No. 729 on November 1,
1977, enacting a moratorium on the issuance of building permits for the
construction of structures on certain Bullock Lane property, pending the
completion of zoning regulations revisions to be consistent with the
general plan; and
WHEREAS, said revisions to the zoning regulations are still being
formulated and the City needs additional time to finalize them; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65858 of the Government Code, notice of
a proposed extension of said interim ordinance has been given and the City
Council has conducted a public hearing thereon for the extension of said
ordinance for a period of eight (8) months;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code Section
65858, the provisions of Urgency Ordinance No. 729 are hereby extended for
an additional eight (8) month period terminating October 21, 1978.
SECTION 2. Staff and all appropriate advisory bodies are directed
to study and develop a proposed ordinance within a reasonable time to provide
for appropriate revision of the zoning regulations.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption by a four - fifths vote of the Council and shall remain in effect for
a period of eight (8) months unless terminated sooner by the Council;
provided, however, that the provisions of this ordinance may be extended as

provided by Government Code Section 65858.
The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published once within
five (5) days in a newspaper of general circulation, but delay in publication,
or even failure to publish, shall not affect the validity of the ordinance.
INTRODUCED AND FINALLY PASSED by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of February ,
1978, on motion of Councilman Jorgensen , seconded by Councilman Settle
and on the following roll call vote:
