HomeMy WebLinkAbout0848ORDINANCE NO. 848 (1980 Series) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY Or SAN LUIS OBISPO ADDING TO THE SAN LUIS OBISPO MUNICIPAL CODE, SECTION 8121, ENTITLED "ALTERNATE BUILDING STANDARDS FOR HISTORIAL BUILDINGS." BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Section 8121 is hereby added to the San Luis Obispo Municipal Co:ae, to read as follows: "Section 8121. Alternate Building Standards for Historial Buildings. Part 8 of Title 24, California Administrative Code, entitled'State Historical:�Bui'lding Code,' three (3) copies of which are on file in the Office:of the City Clerk, identified by the Seal of the City of San Luis Obispo thereon, is hereby adopted by reference as though -set out in full in this Section and is to apply in the reconstitution, reconstruction, rehabilitation, renovation, restoration, repair or alteration of buildings legally designated as historical buildings within the City of San Luis Obispo." SECTION 2. The City Council finds these alternate building standards to be reasonable and necessary for the preservation of old and unique buildings having historial significance to the City of San Luis Obispo, and to facilitate the restoration or change of occupancy so as to preserve their original architectural elements and features, to encourage energy conservation and a cost - effective approach to preservation, and to provide for the safety of building occupants. SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its said final passage.
