AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL

AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
The CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO

does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That an amendment to the Contract between the CITY COUNCIL

Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement System is hereby authorized,
a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A ", and by such refer-
ence made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION 2. The MAYOR of the

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its

a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of

July 1, 1952, 0ctober 1, 1962, October 3, 1963, October 1, 1974, June 1, 1976,
December 1, 1976, December 20, 1978, January 15, 1980, and K?y 1, 1930, t•thich
provides for participation of Public Agency in said System, 'Beard. and Public
Agency hereby agree as fellows:
A. Paragraphs 1 through 10 are hereby stricken fror3 said contract as •_:xecuted
effective May 1, 1030, and hereby replace by the folloi.,i.ng paragraphs
num, bered 1 through 10 inclusive:
1. All words and terns used herein Which are defined in the Public
Employees' Retire.nenr Law shall have the meaning as defined therein
unless otherwise specifically provided. 1111or.nal retir•eaiient age" shall
mean age 60 for local miscellaneous and age 55 for local safety
members.
2. Public Arscy shall participate in the Public Employees' Retire_n'ent
System fron and :after July 1, 1952 making its employees as
hereinafter provided, '.i3e:albers of said System subject to all provisions
of the Public L)rlployees' Retirerent Lew except such as :apply only on
election of a contracting agency and are not provided for herein and
to all amenchents to said Law hereafter enacted except such as by
express provisions thereof apply only on the election of contracting

apply to the Fublic Agency and its employees:
a. Sections 21380 -21339 (1959 Survivors Program) .
o. Sections 21263%21263.1 (Post- retirement survivor allowance) , for
local safety members.
c. Section 20 °52.8 (Unused sick: leave credit), for local rniscel-
laneous and local .fire members.
d : Section 20952.5 (A.ge 50 voluntary retirement) for local safety
members only.
e. Section 20024.2 (One -year final compensation) .
T. Public Aency, in accordance with Section 20'740, Government Code,
ceased to be an "employer" for purposes of C,:aapter 6 of the Public
Employees' Retirement Law effective on Junes 1, 19`76. Acci 'rnulated
contributions of Public A,ency as of the aforementioned date shall be
fixed and determined as provided in Section 20759, Government Code,
and accumulated contributions as of the aforementioned date and
contributions thereafter made shall be held by the Board as provided
in Section 20759, Government Cope.
8. Public kgency shall contribute to said Retirement System as follows

(1) 10.943 percent on account of the liability for current
service benefits.
c (2) 0.142 percent on account of the liability for the 1959
Survivor Progr aim .
b. With respect :to local safety members, the agency shall contribute
the following percentages of monthly salaries earned as local

liability- for prior service benefits.

9. Contributions required of Public P,Yency and its s,nployees shall bo
subject to adjustment by Board on :account of anlencments tc, the Public.
Employees' Retirement Law, and on account of the experience under the
Retir�:nent System .is d>�termined by the periodic investigation and
valuation required by said Retire-inent Law.
10. Contributions r, ^quired of Public A;,--ncy and its employees shall be
paid by Public ;1;ency to the Retirement Syste!n within thirty days
after the end of t' 'Cr;:: p rricd to which said contributions refer' or as
may be prescribe) by Board regulation. Ii.' more or .less than the
