HomeMy WebLinkAbout0874NOT FI LY PASSED ORDINANCE NO. 874 (1980 Series) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING PART 1 OF CHAPTER 4 OF ARTICLE II OF THE SAN LUIS OBISPO MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE THE PLANNING COMMISSION SHALL CONSIST OF 5 MEMBERS BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows: SECTION 1. Part 1 of Chapter 4 of Article II of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code (Sections 2410 - 2410.3) is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 2410. CREATED There is hereby established the Planning Commission of the City. SECTION 2410.1 COMPOSITION The Planning Commission shall consist of 5 members. SECTION 2410.2 TERM. OF OFFICE (a) Members shall serve staggered four -year terms. Three terms will expire at noon on July 1, 1981 and every four years thereafter. The other two terms will expire at noon on July 1, 1983, and every four years thereafter. (b) Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms. SECTION 2410.3 FUNCTIONS, POWERS AND DUTIES The Planning Commission's basic responsibility is to make recommendations to the City Council for the city's development. To carry out this responsibility the Commission will: (a) Prepare and recommend a general plan and appropriate attachments. (b) Prepare and recommend appropriate specific plans. (c) Review the city's capital improvement program annually. (d) Perform authorized duties related to development review. (e) Perform such other duties required by the Council or by state or city laws." SECTION 2. The five members of the Planning Commission serving on the effective date of this ordinance shall constitute the Planning Commission as established hereunder. The terms of those five members shall continue, respectively, as initially appointed. 0 874 s Ordinance No. 374 (1980 Series) SECTION 3. This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said city and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty days after its final passage. INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo at a meeting held on the 16th day of December , 1980, on motion of Councilman Munger seconded by Councilman Bond , and on the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Munger, Bond and Mayor Cooper NOES: Councilmembers Billig and Dunir.
