AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING
THE OFFICIAL ZONE MAP OF THE CITY TO REZONE PROPERTY
ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE MADONNA ROAD INTERCHANGE FROM
C /OS -5 TO C -T -S, APPLY THE SPECIFIC PLAN OVERLAY ZONE
TO LAND NORTH OF THE MADONNA INN AND ADJUST THE C -T
ZONE BOUNDARY WEST OF MADONNA ROAD.
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983 the-City Council approved amendments to -the
General Plan Land Use Element which changed the location of the urban reserve
and the boundry between commercial and open space land west of Madonna Road,
changed the land use designation of a 5 -acre area west of the Madonna Road
interchange from open space to a tourist commercial designation, and established
a new tourist commercial expansion area west and north of the Madonna Inn; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is both desirable and necessary to
change the location of zone boundaries and establish new zoning to implement the
general plan amendments summarized above and approved by council resolution
No. 5045 ; and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning promotes the public health, safety and welfare,
maintains consistancy between the city's general plan and zoning map, and helps
implement the City's Hillside Planning Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the environmental
determination made by the Community Development Director for the subject
rezoning as outlined in the March 1982 Hillside Planning Program Staff Report.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
as follows:
SECTION 1: Adjustments to the C -T zone boundary west of Madonna Road, rezoning
of the 5 -acre parcel west of the Madonna Road Interchange from C /OS -5 to C -T -S,
application of the "SP" overlay zone to property north of the Madonna Inn and other

zone boundary adjustments as shown on the attached map (hereto marked Exhibit "A"
and included herein by reference) are hereby approved.
SECTION 2: This ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be
published once in full, at least three days prior to its final passage, in the
Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulatied in said city, and the same
shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty days after said final passage.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
at a meeting thereof held on the 1st. day of February , 1983 on motion of
Councilwoman Dovey , seconded by Councilman Settle , and on the following roll
call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Dovey, Settle, Dunin, Griffin and Mayor Billig
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
