ORDINANCE NO. 980(1983 Series)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING SECTION 3120.5
(FIRE CODE MODIFICATIONS) OF THE SAN LUIS
OBISPO MUNICIPAL CODE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3120.5 of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code hereby
is amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 3120.5 MODIFICATIONS.
The Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall have the power to modify
any of the provisions of the Fire Prevention Code upon application in writing by
the owner or lessee, or his duly authorized agent, where there are practical

difficulties in carrying out the strict letter of the code, provided that the
spirit of the code shall be complied with. Three copies of the 1982 UFC are
on file for public reference in the offices of the'City Clerk, the Planning and
Building Department, and Fire Department headquarters."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance, together with the ayes and noes, shall be
published once in full, at least three (3) days prior to its final passage
in the Telegram- Tribune, a newspaper published and circulated in said City,
and the same shall go into effect at the expiration of thirty (30) days after
its said final passage.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo at a meeting held on the - -19th day of April , 1983, on motion of
Councilman Griffin , seconded by Councilman Settle , and.on the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Griffin, Settle, Dunin and Mayor Billig
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilwoman Dovey
