AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE
ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 4, PART 5, SECTION 2450.1,
COMPOSITION OF THE MASS TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE,
AND SECTION 2450.2, TERM OF OFFICE FOR MASS
TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE MEMBERS
BE IT RESOLVED by the City of San Luis Obispo as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2450.1 and Section 2450.2 (Article II, Chapter
4, Part 5) of the San Luis Obispo Municipal Code, are hereby amended to
read as follows:
'_Section 2450.1 COMPOSITION
The Mass Transportation Committee shall consist of nine
members, selected as follows:
(a) One person from California Polytechnic State University, San
Luis Obispo.
(b) One person from the Senior Citizens Organization.
(c) One person from the Human Relations Commission.
(d) One person from the business community.
(e) Two persons with technical transportation planning experience.
(f) One handicapped person.
(g) Two persons from the general public.
Provided, if in the opinion of the Council there is not available
within any of the classed listed a qualified person for appointment, the
Council may appoint any other person, subject to Charter Section 1202
limitations, to fill the Committee seat for that class.

Section 2450.2 TERMS OF OFFICE
(a) Terms of office shall be two (2) years. A member may serve
for no more than four consecutive, full terms (eight years). Terms
shall be staggered and shall commence on April 1.
(b) Vacancies shall be filled by the Council for unexpired terms.
Section 2450.3 OFFICERS
At its first regular meeting after April 1 each year, the committee
shall elect a chairperson and a vice chairperson whose terms shall be
one year, commencing on election. No person shall serve in the office
of chairperson or vice chairperson for more than two consecutive terms."
SECTION II. This ordinance, approved by the City Attorney,
together with the ayes and noes, shall be published at least three (3)
days prior to its final passage in the Telegram Tribune, a newspaper
published and circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect
at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its said final passage.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED TO PRINT by the Council of the City of San
Luis Obispo at the meeting held on the 19th day of July, 1983.
On motion of Councilman Dunin, seconded by Councilwoman Dovey, and
on the following roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Dunin, Dovey, Griffin and Mayor Billig
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Settle
