SLO City Council members,
We just read the article in the Tribune regarding the proposed project at 1101 Monterey Street, and wanted to
lend our support to what appears to be a positive project for the site. The project as we understand it will include
commercial development and a workforce housing component. We understand the developer is looking to reach
or exceed maximum height limits, and we are supportive of that as well.
In short, this project appears to embrace the "build up, not out" growth model, and may provide desperately
needed lower-cost housing in the downtown core close to jobs, schools, and services. We strongly support this
approach to city planning.
