Subject: Santa Rosa & Higuera Development Concerns
Greetings Members of the City Council -
I N)--C: _41VFD
FEB 17 2016
I am writing today to ask that you deny the request to build a 75' tall development at the corner of Santa Rosa and
Higuera.
It concerns me that the council continues to approve these monstrous buildings which are swallowing up our
downtown. We in no way, shape, or form have the infrastructure to handle what is happening downtown. As a resident 4
blocks from downtown I can tell you I am rarely if ever able to park on the street at my own home. Is there ample/proper
parking to even facilitate all this retail and commercial space?? I can tell you the answer is NO.
The irony regarding development decisions is that the city preaches "OPEN SPACE" yet every iota of blue sky we have
downtown is becoming non existent. We can still develop and maintain the quaintness of our city without losing who we
truly are. Please reflect and understand the hypocrisy of the decisions you are making.
I have lived in San Luis for over 20 years and our downtown is becoming unrecognizable. I understand we must grow and
not stay stagnant however I implore you to understand this is NOT SANTA BARBARA,....we are San Luis Obispo. We
are small, we are homey, we are our own unique deal and the amount of growth and developing that is happening
downtown is purely frightening.
Thank you for taking the time.
