I am a member of the SLO Pickleball Club and play 6-7 times per week. I play at 4-5 venues from Arroyo Grande to Paso Robles. The courts at Meadow Park are the most crowded of all the places I play. With only three courts (other places have 4-6 courts), many times there are more than 12 people waiting for the 12 spots to play. We then switch to 7 point games instead of the usual 11 point games to accommodate the waiting players. When this happens, several people leave because they don't want to wait and then have such a short game. Each time I play at Meadow Park, there seems to always be someone signing -up who has never played before. While this is great for the sport, it just means someone else will be waiting to play. We need to have the capacity to keep these new people interested and not getting discouraged because of the waiting. Pickleball is often associated with Senior Citizens, probably because it is wildly popular in places like "The Villages" in FL. However, in SLO, I would say that 25% of the players are in their 40's or 50's so it doesn't only appeal to Senior Citizens, it serves a wide demographic range. I strongly urge you to approve adding French Park as an additional venue for Pickleball in SLO and to look into the possibility of adding a permanent Pickleball facility as Arroyo Grande, Morro Bay, Cambria and Paso Robles have done. Thanks, Jim Zeeb
