2 Chaired the SLO Regional Transportation Agency meeting; participated in
conference call with Local Government Commission regarding grant possibilities
for storm water retention;
3 Interview with Cal Poly journalism student; closed session regarding labor
negotiations;
4 Conference call with elected officials and Executive Directors of Councils of
Government from Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey and Santa Barbara Counties
regarding upcoming effort to lobby Sacramento for more funding in transportation
and restored State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) funding:
participation in the Madonna Inn fundraiser for the Womens' Shelter;
7 Met with planning staff regarding the Airport Land Use Commission; met with
the Cal -ID committee, attended by Chief Cantrell, the DA, County Sheriff,
Atascadero Police Chief, Supervisor Mecham, Jennifer Rhynes and the executive
director, regarding funding for finger printing, facial recognition, DNA testing
and other means of identifying alleged criminals;
8 & 9 Travelled to Sacramento and lobbied Senator Monning, Assembly person
Achajian and others for restored STIP and transportation funding;
10 Met with Sharon Kimball of the League of Women Voters, regarding upcoming
facilitated workshop with the Air Pollution Control District Board; attended
SCLC;
11 Participated in the Laguna Middle School Career Day for 8th graders.
14 Met with Kathleen McMahon, the new Dean of Students at Cal Poly regarding
town -gown dynamics.
