Subject: Appeal of the Buena Vista Avenue neighbors to the San Luis Obispo City Council regarding a home proposed for
a vacant hillside lot at 40 Buena Vista Avenue.
When this matter was previously before the City Council, you, Council members, directed the applicant to work
with the staff and the Architectural Review Commission to redesign the proposed dwelling so that it conforms
to the City Design Guidelines. You, Council members, also directed staff and the ARC to consider nine other
planning issues including adherence to the City's Hillside Development Standards, particularly LUE 6.4.3.
For reasons unknown to us, average concerned citizens of SLO, the Architectural Review Commission and City
Staff have ignored these directions of you, the City Council, in this matter. We urge you to support the appeal
of the Buena Vista Avenue neighbors in your deliberations Tuesday, May 3, and once again act to protect the
built character of our city.
