As you may be aware, there are current issues relative to the community development department and possibly city
managers' involvement in manipulating the calendars of advisory bodies.
We have now arrived at a new low of City staff (other than the reporting secretary) revising committee minutes— to the
extent of eliminating the setting of agenda items by committee chairpersons and failure to record the submission of
documents to the committee and the entry of such documents into the record.
To protect the public and the innocent staff who are not participants, it appears warranted and in fact essential that all
advisory body meetings be audio recorded to ensure transparency and availability for transcription.
To further promote public access and "open government" the City must immediately provide email for all advisory body
members to ensure direct access available to the public which is currently controlled and restricted by staff as they
choose.
I urge you to consider this action today, or put on your put on the next agenda.
