We see no benefit to the city by opening Luneta to through traffic but we do forecast a very hazardous and disruptive situation resulting if the plan is approved. It is our understanding that the SLO transportation division director and city manager have no choice to execute this plan from the 1960's unless directed otherwise by the city council. As you well know, the city of San Luis Obispo has changed drastically since the traffic plan was originally written. It is time to revisit the plan. It makes no sense to destroy a peaceful neighborhood by increasing traffic by 500%. Residents should have the ability to address you with their concerns. We urge you to place the issue of keeping Luneta closed to through traffic on the agenda for the next City Council Meeting. Sincerely, Michael and Claire Noland
