Subject: Next City Council meeting 9/6/2016
Dear Mayor and city council members,
COUNCIL
ITEM NO.:`'3
RECEIVED
AUG 3 0 2016
JLQ CITY CLERK
We will not be able to attend tonight's meeting but want to make a public comment about the 71 Palomar
project.
On Friday evening, 8/19, the current student residents at 71 Palomar had a party causing loud noise, traffic
and general disturbance that night. The police were called. This is what our neighborhood is facing on a
weekly basis if you approve more student housing at 71 Palomar. Not only does it disrupt the neighborhood
but puts more demands on law enforcement.
This is a prime property for an owner occupied head of household development.
We are hopeful that city council will deny the current proposed student housing project and allow other offers
from developers that are interested in more appropriate development for that lot.
Please do read up on the 71 Palomar property so that when it comes on the agenda again you will be prepared
to make a wise decision.
It is too valuable a property within our city to let it go to student housing.
Every student housing project the city approves takes the housing responsibility away from Cal Poly where it
belongs.
Sincerely,
Tess and Dan Matthews
