I am writing to you about the agenda of the City Council for tomorrow, September 6.
Once again I am advocating that Luneta Dr. be left closed, with the posts remaining in the street blocking almost all vehicle traffic
between the posts and Palomar St.
The entire neighborhood for blocks around has for many years used this section of Luneta for walking, biking and walking dogs.
Everyone in this entire area is opposed to opening up this stretch. I have gone from house to house along 2 blocks of Luneta with a
petition to leave the area closed, and everyone I spoke to was opposed to opening up this area, and signed the petition. It was signed
not only by home owners but by students renting apartments.
There is no logical reason to uproot the posts and massively increase motor vehicle traffic on Luneta. The posts have been there for
many, many years. The strip between the posts and Palomar could be upgraded to standard without removing the posts.
I live at 593 Luneta Dr., right across from the posts, and opening up that strip would much decrease my quality of life, and that of
everyone in our extensive neighborhood.
