Dear Mayor Marx and Council Members,
I live at 89 La Entrada Ave and I am in favor of keeping Luneta Dr. a closed street. Luneta is one of the more
quiet streets in our neighborhood and is enjoyed by walkers and bikers of all ages. The opening of Luneta
would change this part of our neighborhood and would negatively affect all neighbors.
Opening Luneta is contrary to the plan to turn Broad St. in that area into a bike boulevard --it would only add a
lot of traffic. The plan does not make sense with the new plans being implemented around town.
Also I'm really upset about all the trees that would be cut down on the property. We know our environment
doesn't need more trees cut down.
The developers are marketing the new development as workforce housing but the skimpy units will only appeal
to students. Students who deserve betterparking and better facilities. I'm a Cal Poly alumni and work there
with students now, but I don't think this is the right housing situation for them.
In case you haven't heard, the developers have a whole network organized around this and similar projects and
they are sending their employees to meetings pretending to be concerned citizens who want to live there. If you
see people in favor of the development, you will notice they are hanging out with the developer after the
meeting.
Thank you,
Valerie Monge
