A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO TO INCREASE EDUCATIO N
AND ENFORCEMENT PROGRAMS FOCUSING ON REGULATING RETAI L
ALCOHOL OUTLETS WITH GRANT FUNDING PROVIDED THROUGH TH E
DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTRO L
WHEREAS,the San Luis Obispo Police Department through the City of San Lui s
Obispo desires to undertake programs to increase education and enforcement to focus o n
regulating retail alcohol outlets in the community ; and
WHEREAS,grant funds are available through the Grant Assistance Program (GAP )
administered by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Lui s
Obispo as follows, that the City Manager of the City of San Luis Obispo is authorized to execute
all grant related documents including the State of California Standard Agreement contract, an y
extensions or amendments thereof, and any subsequent contract with the State in relation thereto .
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this contract ,
including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and th e
authorizing agency . The State of California and ABC disclaim responsibility for any suc h
liability .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used t o
supplicant expenditures controlled by this body .
IT IS ALSO AGREED that this award is not subject to local hiring freezes .
