It omits what should be one of the City's top park acquisition priorities, a park for the "North Broad Neighborhood." The Parks and Recreation Element of the General Plan identifies this park as the sole unmet neighborhood park need in the entire City. As you may recall from presentations residents made to you earlier this year, a park for this neighborhood has been promised in the City's plans for decades. However, other areas of the City have taken priority for enhancement. Meanwhile, there have been some sites in the "North Broad Neighborhood" that would have made for good parks that have been lost to development. Earlier this year, in response to requests from residents, you generously set aside $900,000 towards a land acquisition reserve fund for a park in this neighborhood. The City staff needs to be proactive and should seek out a site for this long-term promise and need for the residents. Please make sure that this objective is included in the aforementioned goal. Thank you. Cordially, Mila Vujovich-La Barre San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
