for Parks and Recreation
CALL TO ORDER
A Special Joint Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Jack House Committee
was called to order on the 14th day of October 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at the Ludwick Community
Center located at 864 Santa Rosa, San Luis Obispo, California, by Chair Whitener.

Advisory Body Members
Present: Parks and Recreation Commissioners: Chair Jeff Whitener, Susan Olson and
Rodney Thurman
Jack House Committee Members: Chair Kathi Settle, Vice Chair Toni Kincaid and
Bryant Mills
Advisory Body Members
Absent: Commissioners Greg Avakian, Keri Schwab, Douglas Single and Vice Chair Susan
Updegrove.
Committee Members Chuck Crotser, Robert Gordon, James Papp and Eva Ulz
Council Members
Present: John Ashbaugh, Carlyn Christianson and Mayor Jan Marx
City Staff
Present: Parks and Recreation Director Shelly Stanwyck, Administrative Analyst Lindsey
Stephenson, Recreation Coordinators Sean Tucker (Aquatics) and Chris Woods (Golf),
Recreation Supervisors Devin Hyfield (Facilities/Aquatics/Golf) and Rich Ogden
(Sports/Golf), Golf Maintenance Worker Vlahd Cruz, Maintenance Supervisors Jeff
Hendrix (Parks) and Andrew Collins (Facilities)
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. TOUR OF FACILITIES
The two commissions under the Parks and Recreation Department toured facilities that have or
will be undergoing projects within their jurisdiction. The facilities visited on the tour, which
commenced at the Ludwick Community Center, included Santa Rosa Park, Laguna Lake Golf
Course, the South Hills Trailhead, Meadow Park, French Park, Sinsheimer Park and the Jack
House.
Chair Whitener adjourned the meeting at 12:00 p.m.
