Hello Council Members,
I wanted to express my support for Melissa Mudgett and the SLO Public Arts Mater Plan. I participated in this
year's Art Box Program, painting colorful iconic locations of SLO county on the electrical box at the corner of
Marsh & Higuera. During the painting I got a ton of public support through cheers, kind words spoken from car
windows, and honks, which were expressed across a broad spectrum of the public. The master plan includes
several exciting project proposals including custom crosswalk designs, additional electrical box paintings, and
possibly the Santa Rosa street overpass over Hwy 101. I believe the city will benefit greatly from these
proposed projects, especially those that are visible from the highway, in a way that welcomes visitors and
celebrates the beauty and creativity that is part of our great town.
