Dear Mayor Harmon and Council Members. Before I became a member of the Cultural Heritage Committee I
was a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission for 8 years, charing for 2 years, many times we
discussed the P&R Element which is very old and needs to be updated. It's not something that staff can do
entirely as I understand it today so there needs to be some funding provided by the Council to hire a consultant
to accomplish this very overdue update, one that will bring the Parks and Recreation Department up to a
modern standard. I plan on supporting this goal from the PRC and hope it finds its way to your attention. Even
if it doesn't become a City goal, it still needs to be done, so if the unfortunate outcome is that the update is not a
priority goal, then please consider making the update something that is considered during the next year.
