The Dana Street residents are being unduly impacted by the building plans promoted by the Planning Staff and approved by the ARC. There appears to be no one at our City who works on behalf of residents. Is it even possible that people care so little about the lives of others? I believe residents' lives matter and I am willing to stand up for them whether I live near them or not. Developers will, of course, ask for as much as they can get. Planners work diligently along side them. Commissions approve plans as submitted. Reasonable changes requested by residents are disregarded. Residents lives are negatively impacted and no one blinks an eye. When can people at the City learn how upsetting this is? Will it be only when something huge and ugly, ignoring every decency of overlook, privacy, bright light and loud sound is built right next to them, or to you? Or can you imagine now that the place these Dana Street residents live, love and call home is suddenly threatened and their lives as they know them, changed forever? Will you throw them some crumbs .... or just let them eat cake? They would like ■ landscaping of evergreens to block overlook into their windows and yards • garage walled in to protect them from light and noise of motorized vehicles ■ set back on 4th story for some relief from * vertical building looming over them 1 * unnecessary shading • no future roof deck • changes to be approved by ARC allowing resident representation This is asking so little when daily lives mean more. Thank you for considering fellow residents. For the best of SLO, Camille Small
