The "official" student position on these matters is sad commentary on Cal Poly's failure to teach students to integrate their learning with larger civic concerns and responsibilities -- particularly poignant just after MILK Day. Since one only encounters "problems" from noise enhancement rules if one is a bad neighbor or selfish and boorish, it boggles the mind why the "official" student representatives think the way they do. If they behave decently, they have nothing to fear. Do they believe they should be exempt from the practice of good behavior and common courtesy? Since the noise enhancements went into effect, my neighborhood has been a lot more livable at what used to be difficult times of the year. Thank you for that, and please stick to it. Richard Schmidt
