I support the amendment to the safety enhancement zone. Our Police are over -required with policing parties,
and need our support in setting right their burden with Cal Poly and Cuesta partying excesses. Do not be
persuaded by whining students who demand more party time and lower punitive fines. Give them to understand
that the community is diverse, with higher claims on police time that is meant to protect the well being and
interests of its residents, above all the long standing and permanent resident population who give their time,
effort, volunteer hours for the larger community.Our student population is privileged to have access to an
exceptional environment enabling them to de -stress and enjoy their college experience.
At tonight's meeting you will also consider an appeal to modify the 560 Higuera project. The points articulated
in the appeal regarding setbacks, enclosed parking, revised landscaping, and a clause excluding future roof
decks, are all reasonable. They will not mean significant expense, but will rather demonstrate empathy for those
residents whose homes would be affected adversely. Please use this opportunity to exercise mature judgment
and ensure that residents receive the recognition they deserve, while ensuring the project proceeds with minimal
conditions included, for the benefit of those residents concerned..
