Subject: Feb 16 Rental Inspection Meeting
Dear City Council,
Please repeal the Rental Inspection Ordinance. This ordinance will hurt the little guy, both the renters and the
property owners who don't have deep pockets. It will force out the people with less opportunity and allow out-
of-towners with big money to come in and snatch up properties from the people that will need to sell due to
financial strain. The developers and investors will take full advantage of this opportunity to grow their little
empires, while many long-time local renters and owners get pushed out. This ordinance is not necessary. Any
renter who has a problem with their living situation or believes that their place of residence is not up to code
may contact the city and file a complaint at any time. Please stop this ordinance and prevent the increase of the
already imbalanced ownership of properties in slo.
