Subject: Rental Inspection Program
Hello,
Please consider this E-mail an urgent request to you members of our City Council to repeal the above
referenced program. My wife and I consider this ordinance to be an infringement on our rights under both the
United States and California Constitutions.
The program is a wasteful use of our taxpayers money. We already have a building department that is capable
of responding to any citizens (renters) complaints regarding the tenatability of of a particular rental property.
We have two rental units within the city of San Luis Obispo.
I pride myself on being very responsive to any repairs or problems in our units and alleviating these in an
expeditious fashion.
An implementation of this program is of little or no benefit to our community save higher rents for tenants and
consistent confrontation between citizens and our city government. I urge the council to use existing city
resources (i.e city building department and inspectors) rather than utilizing a most flawed and unnecessary
ordinance.
In summary please vote to REPEAL the ill-advised Rental Inspection Ordinance!
Thank you for your care and consideration of this request. I am.
Yours Truly,
Bob Mulvaney
